The Xerox Phaser 4500 was released in January 2004 in the USA. Several other branded models are based on the same engine, including the Epson EPL-N3000, Offirio LP-S2000/S3000 and the Fujitsu Printia XL-9280 and XL-9310.
A radio-frequency (RF) chip is inside a round plastic housing located on the side of the toner waste bin. Printers in this family will not function properly without a chip installed, or with a spent chip on the cartridge.
Note: Xerox Phaser 4500 and 4510 cartridges are NOT interchangeable
